Honors Even between Bees and Ripon

The Bees Colts have been without a game for over three weeks, so could be forgiven in being a little rusty.
Bees welcomed Ripon for the second time this season to the Hive, with the Bees taking the win in the league, but we all know Cup games can be very different, with Ripon brushing Selby aside to set up this fixture in the Yorkshire cup.
we also saw that both teams are very evenly matched so once again the supporters was in for a treat.
The lads didn't disappoint from both teams giving it their all, with Ripon putting the Bees defense to the test from the start, turning the ball over at the breakdown on many occasion, making the Bee work overtime in defense, but it was clear that the Bees pack had the upper hand against the Ripon pack in the scrums, with a bit of magic from Alvaro Bees No.9 making a break from the scrum with a nice pass to Ryan Lister playing at Fly Half got his backs moving once again Connor Capper, and Byron Finn asking questions of Ripon's defense this time with Connor breaking through several tackles, to be brought down just short of the try line, allowing the forwards to pick and drive, it was our Captain leading by example picking up from base of the ruck and powering him self over to take his first try of the season, and giving his team much deserved points with Byron converting, seven points to the good, but once again Ripon putting Bees under pressure, the lads have been working hard on their defensive work in training and it was showing in the way they was frustrating Ripon, but it wasn't long before Ripon had created a gap with moving the ball well through the back line and going over for their first points, but with their kicker just missing his conversion keeping the score once again very close, this was to be the half time score so just shows how even the two teams we're in the first half, and the second half was to be played very much the same way, with Bees making some changes at half time this seemed to play its part in Ripon taking the next score with what can only be said as sloppy tackling from the Team which they will admit them selves, which will be looked at in training, so Ripon taking the lead for the first time in the game. but Bees wasn't going to take this laying down and pined Ripon in their 22, the Bees got their pick and drive working and started to gain yard toward the try line with Ripon tackling hard, Connor Fry pick and drove for the line it was clear to see he had got the ball down but the ref called held, so scrum Bees ball, off the Bees went again with their pick and go this is when Ripon lost a player to the bin for repeatedly being offside, it was Kyle littlewood that drove it in from the penalty and over for the try, with a missed conversion but Bees taking back the lead.
Both teams laying it out on the field with some fantastic rugby on display, the Bees working hard in the engine room of the pack and driving the ball up field only to have the same call when the ball was clear to see it had been grounded but once again call held up, this was to be the defining moment as from the scrum the Bees lost position allowing Ripon to clear their line it was Ripon to move the ball through their back and again loose tackling from the Bees allowed them to take the lead with a try in the corner, with seven minutes left and Ripon with a three point lead, the Bees pushed them back again into there 22 and putting the Ripon defense under so much pressure again more penalty's from Ripon but still they kept the Bees forwards out at this point i had lost count at the penalty's but with the Bees pack opting to tap and go pushed them selves over the line again only for it to be called held yet again, at that point the ref blowing for full time, as coaches all we can say it you play to the whistle, that all you can do, some time its can be down to a bit of lucky when both team are so evenly matched, and Ripon taking the honors this time round to make it one a piece with the best of three when the Bees go to them in the League in the new year. form the staff and colts we wish Ripon every success in the cup, with the Bees bowing out of the Cup will now challenge for the Plate in the coming weeks so look forward to see who their next opponents will be, so back to challenging for the league next week.
once again we can't say it enough the only way players are going to develop it working hard in training, our numbers are growing and this has been been great for our head coach to work on the boys and develop their game and confidence also training and being part of the senior setup has paid dividends for our boys gaining experience form the 1st & 2nd team players, a big thank you to the senior and the coaching staff for taking our boys under their wings. wish to say another big big thank you to Tom Booth 1st team captain and Micheal Crotch also of the 1st team for coaching the lads today. thank you again to our parents, and thank you to the big support from the club with president and chairman coming along and watching hopefully the next generation of the Bradford & Bingley,
Man Of the Match this week went to William Bentley(Briefcase) playing at Hooker today with his hard work in defense and attack Well Done!
so lets see good numbers at training this week in preparation for the forthcoming league game.
