This game definitely a tail of two half's.

First home game of the season and we welcomed Thirsk, who themselves got of to winning ways last week, so to make for a great match up between the two teams, guess the Bees didn't get that memo as we really didn't turn up in the first half, yes the score shows a very tight game, and for that the Bees did defend well but gave themselves a lot of work to do, not taking anything away for Thirsk they had come to the Hive to play a game and from the off was always in the Bees face forcing them back making them have to defend putting the Bess under a lot of pressure Thirsk was rewarded with an early score, would of thought this might wake the Bees up a little well lets just say one eye was open as the Bess forwards started to make ground and forcing Thirsk this time to defend ,with the Bees Fly Half Ryan Lister pinning the ball down in the corners this lead to a error by Thirsk which gave Bees a line-out 5 meters out, with the Ball won it was Josh Lawn to open the Bees score with a good drive.
Again it was Thirsk to turn the screw and step up through the gear's, running the ball freely through their backs to score under the sticks.
HT 14-5 to Thirsk.
second Half seemed to start the same with Thirsk or should say Bees putting themselves under pressure with silly penalty's, but they did atone for their mistakes and defended well. Frustration started to creep into this evenly balanced game, shall we say disagreements spilled out on to the pitch, with a player from both teams being sent off. This was to give Thirsk a man advantage with an overlap, but it was Bees that started to put some moves together which opened the defense, with Alvaro casas doing what he does best searching out gaps, which he found one and caught Thirsk napping, with great support play by Ethan Smith went over for a try, Byron Finn making sure with his conversion. The Bees closed the gap to just two points with about Fifteen minutes on the clock, it was getting very tense again some silly play crept into the game, both teams had a talking to by the ref, it was clear the Bees was finishing the game the stronger of the teams with some great work from the forwards moving up the field with quick ball to the backs released our very own Flash Connor Capper to run through several of the Thirsk player and over for a try, with one of the Thirsk players taking exception to this said something to the ref to get himself a yellow only for him to carry on which was then quickly change to a red. For the first time in the game Bees had taken the lead, now they had to defend it for the next five minutes, with Thirsk all but throwing the kitchen sink at them they held on to make it two wins from two.
It just goes to show never panic keep your cool and work for each other does go along way in a game of Rugby. This weeks Man of the Match went to someone that kept his cool although the game talking to his team mates, he defended hard putting his body and at times his head on the line aganist so big lads, his chasing down of the ball was also very good, with a try to complement his hard work so WELL DONE! Ethan Smith, there was some good work by the Bees in parts but think the lads would agree this was a below par performance for what they have been doing on the training field.
So back down to Training to work and iron out some of the error's from today's game in readiness for Harrogate AWAY!! next week
I will always be doing this as it's with them we wouldn't have a team every Sunday so a Big Thank You to our parents and supporter, also a huge thank you to the 1st team player Tom Cummins and Micheal Crotch taking time out to help the lads with the warm up and drills before and during the game.
Full Time Bradford & Bingley 17-14 Thirsk.
