Disappointing Result

Where do i start with this weeks match report, sorry but its not going to be one of my epic reports , am sure the other team will have a different take on the match.
We arrived at old Brods yep another away fixture, after hard rain over the last couple of days and Yorkshire beginning to look more like an island with all the floods around the area, we seem to have a rest bite over night with the rain instead we woke up to frost and freezing temperatures, we wouldn't of thought the game to go ahead. but it did, then being shown to the pitch we were to play on i thought Old Rishworthains game a few week earlier was bad enough with the slope on the pitch but this one you would need oxygen just to walk along the sidelines it was that steep. ( yes OK a little fair fetched but you get the drift it was steep).
We lost the toss Old brods elected to play up the mountain oops! up hill for the first half so we had to make it count, which the lads did from the off our defense was solid and we pinned Old brods back in there half , with some good strong runs from the likes of Byron and Connor making good yards, it was Alvaro with his quick thinking from the base of a ruck went blind side to score in the corner, with Byron making a good solid conversion from the touchline. Fifteen minutes into the game we lost Tom Murphy who had sustained a knock to the head which stopped the game for the ambulance to take Tom to hospital, I have spoken to Tom's family and said hes OK a little groggy but all good, Everyone from the team wishes him a speedy recovery.
The ambulance needed help to get off the pitch which the whole of the Bees team gave a hand. the ref and coaches had the discussion that the game should carry on the ref saying he would call time on the first half, to just play the second half which meant the Bees losing a good twenty minutes advantage of going down hill. so score at this point was BEES 7 Old Brods 5
second half started what can i say things just didn't go our way no matter what the boys did they had lost there momentum from the first half, frustrations were starting to kick in from both sides when the ref had to intervene where both side lost a man so carrying on fourteen a side for what we thought was the rest of the match so we were lead to believe by the refs watch.
Bees had mad good ground with there pick and drives and linking with the backs, we thought the game was ours from the position we had got ourselves in the Old Brods half only for a mistake to gift the ball back to them, the ball being pushed out to the wing for them to have a over lap to which they were able to score and kicking the conversion, for it to be brought to the ref's attention that Old Brods had sixteen players on the pitch at the time, only for him to let the try stand?? as soon as we kicked off the ref blow for full time.
it was a very confusing and extremely disappointing end to the game for our lads, all we can do as coaches is give the lads the tools to play the game what happens on the day is taken out of our control, sometime you just dont get the calls or the luck of the bounce, but all you can do is stick to your own game plan.

To our MoM there was a couple that i could think of Byron with his strong running and tackling from no.8 to Dom who yet again making some excellent decisions to get his team on the front foot at no.15, Alvaro with his quick thinking and just as quick feet and a well taken try, but i think this young man never say die attitude making good breaks and good yards but most importantly his defense today was outstanding so my MoM goes to Tom Oddy WELL DONE .
Again a huge thank you to our support from our parents on a very cold Sunday morning, training to be confirmed but lets ALL get down the more we get down to training the more we can coach you lads and develop your games as a team but also individually.
