The boys make tough work of it on the day.

Open the curtains to a cold and damp morning , yes welcome to winter rugby oh the joy standing at the side of the pitch, pretending to be statues because your to cold to move.
We was to enjoy our first home game of the season this weekend only for someone to order Yorkshire own hurricane last week, which left wagon lane underwater as the river burst it's banks Cheers, with no fixtures in site due to most of the rugby pitches in the district unplayable, with the hard work of Andy Scally and the coaches of Old Rishworthians a game looked possible be it an away game again, but not playing for so long the boys itching to get a game we gladly take it, but like us Old rish having there pictches next to the river suffered the same fate, with a 5 min drive up the road they was a pitch we could play on ( with a grade of 2.5% ) we was going to play .
Bees missing a few players and looking at both teams Old Rish having a much larger pack it was going to be a hard morning at the office for the boys,
Old Rish kicking to use to start the game pinned us back in our 22, with a penalty to them the went for the three points, not the start we wanted but the boys came straight back at Old Rish with the forward making strides in attack moved up the field, it was our own tank Kyle to open the score for the Bees with a strong run brushing tackles aside, then the see saw effect for a good 10 mins between both teams that we have come to know from last season two very evenly matched teams in all ways with the Bees 3-0 up on Old Rish, but it was twinkle toes him self Henry to break through the defensive line to go under the posts, Old Rish are a very good coached side and came back to take a try just before half time, to make it 10-8 to Bees .
Old rish started the better using there kicking game to good effect and moving them up the pitch with fast hands taking the the first score of the second half, for a while the Bees seemed to go to sleep and was not making any head way in the game, maybe the lack of matches as it was Old Rishes ninth game so far of the season to our fifth, there move and rucking being the lot cleaner of the teams and working more for them they were soon over again in the corner, this seemed to wake ours boys up instead of having the opposite effect most teams would of let there head go down, the forwards was linking up nicely with the backs and making so good head way it was Byrons turn to take on the defensive line of Old Rish , all he needed was to be Green with his ripped shorts and 5 Old Rish players on his back he still powered forward, marvel must of been missing the Hulk cos there was now way he should of made it to the line with that many on his back but he did and converted his own try too. with the Bees enjoying there rugby the link play was a pleasure to watch between forwards and backs, was Henry to pop up again to touch down with Byron making the conversion from a difficult position, but Old Rish wasn't finished yet to take another score from the Bees which made it 27-24 to Old Rish with the clock ticking down and looking like we would have to settle for that score line the boys had other ideas so with drive after drive it was Tank Kyle to finish the game with the last play.
Final Score 29-27
MoM this week there was so many that could of had it, Tom Oddy in the backs to Byron, Kyle, twins to Connor but Am going to give it to the Team you all work so hard and gave it your all so WELL DONE. Please lets all make a big effort to get to training this is the only way your going to improve and keep developing,
Again huge thank you to our parents for all the support and the travelling the boys wouldn't be able to do it with out you.
