Round 2 Two Far

So cup weekend again yet another away draw for the boys, a return visit to Selby the team we knocked out in the semi finals of the plate cup last season.
Was always down for a tough game revenge for Selby and our boys to push Selby aside to move to the 3rd round, from the kick off Bees drove Selby back by turning over the ball, Charlie picking up from the base of the ruck and charging down the blind side taking a few of the Selby players with him over for the first try of the game, from this we could see the boys looked up for the tough task ahead but this was a well drilled Selby team, too which came straight back at us the Bees defense must of stayed back at wagon lane, as it was nowhere to be seen. It wasn't long for Selby to take the lead and control of the game to which they never looked back with a dominant display, Bees not showing there grit and great defensive game they usually have not to take anything away from Selby but our boys just didn't turn up today,
I have said this time and again we need to be faster in our decisions on the ball, teams are getting a lot faster with there defense like in chess need to be a couple of moves ahead of your opponent, we should be securing the ball in the break downs also competing at the break down as well as supporting the runner, am not going to beat the boys up to much( that would be a criminal offence lol), as am sure they also feel they allowed Selby far to much time with the ball and not closing them down quickly enough.
This is definitely a game for the Bees to digest and learn from, credit to Selby for a game well done.Kyle poped up again from the base of the ruck which we have managed to win back from Selby to score with Byron making the conversion. MoM this week went to our little Spanish pocket rocket Alvaro worked hard to win possession for his team always looking for a gap to exploit, he make the energizer bunny look slow with all his energy well done and well played young man.

Sorry not a novel for a match report was a disappointing day for the boys consolation is we drop into the plate competition which we were runners up last season,
So to training we need all to get down so we can iron out these errors, coaches need body's to teach please lets get down regroup hold our heads high work hard at training it will then play out on match day thing that you have worked on, so back to basics boys and lets get back to winning ways and to the Bees team we all know, win or lose as coaches and parents we are all very proud of the long way you all have come and still developing as players, games like today will stand you in good stead to only make you stronger.
