Fun In The Sun

So it's that time of year again, the boys now U16s with a couple of new additions and a few having left, the boys been working hard in the closed season some a little to hard with the size of a few, no longer our little boys.
So first round of the Yorkshire cup saw us once again way from home why break with tradition, so we headed up to the beautiful picturesque area of the Wharf valley to play Wharfdale which in the past has been a well fought game between the two sides, this one no different.
With Wharfdale sporting a bigger pack we knew the boys was in for a tough time, but the first scrum showed otherwise as bees totally dominated to push Wharfdale back off the ball this was to set the tone in which Bradford was going to play this game , the forwards set the platform for the backs time and time again to run at wharfdales defensive line, shell shocked is maybe the best was to describe wharfdale as they just didn't seem to get hold of the ball, with that it was bees to open the scoring with Byron playing at no.8 for the very first time taking the honours with his first of two for the game, you could see wharfdale was a well drilled side in there game play, but with the bullish mood bees came with nothing was going to stop them reaching the secomd round, it was the turn of our new additions Tom to open his account with the first of his two trys, looking comfortable in the back with all the lads making him welcome, then it was the turn of our MOM Charlie with his first of the season, with his spirited running his hard work on and off the field(more so off the field young man you got big) theres plenty more to come from this young man, but theres plenty of fight in this team even when we went down to 14 men for 10 minutes, Wharfdale still found it hard to break our line but we seemed to switch off at one point and allowed them to pull one back, as in the second half we gave them another opportunity to score which they grabed, it was the turn of our big friendly giant Connor to open his account for the season with another great drive down the field from the forwards allowing Connor to pick up and drive for the tryline on the blindside great vision, Byron kicking the last conversion of the game to make the final score 32-12 to Bradford.
Would like to also give a mention to our other new addition Oscar who had a great game putting his body on the line to make a try saving tackle at the last again welcome to the bees.
Could mention all the lads today as the all gave a fantastic performance for our first game should all be proud of the way you all played, so you all know whats coming next lets get down to training the more number the better preparation for the coming season and to clear some rust off the old armoury.
