Our New Spanish friends just had a little to much for us on the day .

It has been months in the making and organisation of bring a party of 27 young lads from Spain to wagon lane to experience the Yorkshire hospitality and to play a friendly against our U15s .
The boys and girls with there coaches and a couple of parents arrived in the early hours of Thursday morning at Rodolfo's home and packing them all in for a few hours shut eye then it was on to show the boys some of the sites around so Bradford and skipton was descended upon by a big group of rowdy Spanish boys the on both days it was back to the club to train with some of our boys that could make the training session with food being put on for all after the training then it was yo split the boys to some of our parents who kindly volunteered to home the boys for there stay then to play a friendly on Saturday .
To the game from the start and watching the Spanish team train it was evident they were a well drilled team in all areas so was going to be a big test for our boys and a good workout for us to come up against and big strong and skilled team before our trip to hull and the Yorkshire final what a test in was to be it .
No disrespect to our visitors but it was evident our boys just didn't turn up and we all know our boys can play allot better than they did our handling and support play think the boys won't disagree with me on that statement but the game was well contested and despite our lack lustre performance we was holding our own and contesting in the forwards with the Spanish team displaying slick hands and speed in there backs it was evident they liked to throw the ball about and it was them that opened the scoring our boys seemed to wake up and new there were in for a challenge the game became a sea saw event for a time with a good hard battle in the forwards but it was the Spaniards to score again going 12-0 up but we showed we can move the ball well and with some phases moving up the field it was Rhys that went for a gap and went round the defence and beat there speedy back to go over for the bees only try of the game that finished the first half come the second it was very much the same be it we tried to move the ball about but it was our hand just letting us down again the Spanish team showing they now the route to the try line with the final score of the game the final score was to the visitors 19-5 but cutting out our errors it may of been a different score but one thing l can say everyone involved have had a fantastic time and have made some great friends and l believe that is the beauty of the game of rugby we are all part of one big family no matter where we come from .
A huge thank you to all that made this tour possible it was no easy task thank you to the club for the food and hospitality and thank you again to our wonderful parents. To our boys let get back to train and lets get focused on our next game after the Easter holidays. And l can say with hand on heart we are all looking forward to our return trip next season fingers crossed so let's get the fundraising going chaps .
