Not So Silent On The Pitch

With the run of bad weather we have had over the last few weeks it has meant the boys haven't played a game for five weeks so we was so glad to get the text to say GAME ON. So Bradford and Bingley had there first home game of 2015 and welcomed Old Rishworthians to wagon lane.
With a request from the RFU the next two weeks were going to be silent sundays in support and challenging the behavior of coaches, and spectators towards the referee and the boy's on the pitch, can l say it was met with respect by both team's well done to all it is very hard not to speak out in support of your sons and to encourage them but l think we all just about managed to do this.
So last time these two teams met was in the Yorkshire cup on away rules in a draw it was the bees that moved on to the next stage so grudge match call it what you will there was a lot at stake for both sets of lads, what we got was a very entertaining and well fought match with old rish having the bigger pack it was going to be a hard day for the bees, our boys l felt coped very well with keeping old rish in check, it was bees to break the try line first with some great running and support from the pack through to the backs, like last time it wasn't long before old rish went over them selves, this was to set the tone of the game as the scoring from both sides back and forth but there was some great rugby on display with very open play from both teams, at this level shows there some exciting player's coming through the ranks. The second half was very much the same from both team, you can guess where this is going or no surprise this game again ended in a draw with nothing really setting the two teams apart, maybe a criticism today which could of been a factor was our discipline in giving old rish to many penalty instead of trying to starve them of the ball but there still a lot to work on in training so let's keep the fantastic number up that are coming to training and making it so easy to work with to rectify errors also to work on new things . MOM went to Henry this week he has over the weeks directed the run of play and has scored some great try's along the way so again today was more of the same from him making the right calls at the right time is a hard task on young shoulders and he is doing a fab job well done.My moment of the match l think has to be the off load from Byron to matty ,Byron drawing in rishes defense to make space for matty to open his legs to fly down the touch if for a great try saving tackle would of been mattys second of the game but well done to all the boys for there hard work against one of the top sides in the area, round three in few weeks time can the deadlock be broken by the teams, again big shout out to our perents for there support, an even bigger shout out to Brendan and James the coaches of the U17s helping prepare the lads before the game, with try's from Matty Connor and 2 from Alvaro and 2 conversion from Byron. final score 24-24
