A vist to the semi finals for the boys

Today saw the bees U15 take on Cleckheaton for a place in the semi finals of the Yorkshire shield, looking at the teams stats so far this season were very evenly matched so was going to be a well contested game and both teams didn't disappoint .The sun out no wind and the boys being given the opportunity to play on the first teams pitch ,what more could you ask for bar an exciting game of rugby . It was bees taking full advantage of the first altercations pushing Cleckheaton back, we look as if we had started the game the brighter of the two teams and with the pressure our forwards were putting on Cleackheatons pack we gave our selves a great platform to work from ,it was Alavro that opened the scores with the vision to take clecks defence by surprise to touch down under the sticks with Byron taking the two . Like l said both teams very evenly matched with the game going to and fro but it was our pack that made all the difference this week rucking and mauling keeping the ball open for the backs to use to gain yards but Cleckheatons defence held time and again but there's only so much pressure you can take before something gives and from a scrum it was that man again Alavro exploiting the gap down the blind side of clecks defence, going over for his second with Byron converting it bees taking a 14 to nothing lead, midway through the first half and with Cleackheaton at this point not really doing any damage to our line the boys seem to take confidence in this, by this time the pack was dare l say it dominating Cleckheatons, but with big tackles coming in the game seem to be played in the middle of the park for the next 5 minutes but with a couple of penalty to Cleckheaton gave them the position to kick for goal, that seem to take it to half time .
By now you can see the hard work this squad has been putting in to there training being able to run moves from the back to the forwards with there rucking and mauling drills things are getting better week in week out and that is a massive credit to the boys and the coaches . So second half and l think there was a lot of chewed nails on the touch lines from both teams, Cleackheaton needing to come straight back at us and for the bees to keep up there momentum who were going to take the first points of the half well that went to Cleckheaton with a well worked move to create an over lap and our defence sat flat for once in the game Cleck went over and with the conversion good it was game on. This gave cleck the boost they needed as they started to get back into the game rucking much better and moving up the field well it was the bees turn to defend for a long period of the game and boy did they with some big hits coming from Byron , Connor ,Kyle ,the twins there will be some sore body's going to school in the morning ,but again we went back to the toing and froing from both teams but with the support the boys was giving each other the backs managed to move there was up to the Cleck line only for Alarvo to go over for his hat trick but missed conversion to be fair from the touch line (lol), there must of been 15 minutes to go and this is were we started to take our foot of the gas and allow Cleckheaton more ball and more possession to which they thought they was on for the try only for Connor to come out of nowhere and bundle this poor lad intouch, what a save that was but it didnt stop Cleck coming back at us, able to go over for there final score and with 8 mins to go, alot more squeaky bottoms from the touch lines, the boys managed to push Clecks back again it was yes that man again Alavro to clam his forth and final of the game, putting the game beyond Cleckheaton . With Alavro's display today earned him MoM his running tackling and his vision makes this young man a pleasure to watch and the boys have made him so welcome from his move from spain. But for me my moment of the match goes to the hole squad the way they believe in each other, support each other make me so proud to be apart of this squad, again l will be saying this in every match report l do THANK YOU to the parents week in week out you are all there cheering the boys on and are very much apart of the success the boys are having , and thank you to Ruhs and Byrons mums for running the raffle . lets keep this up boys the numbers to training are fantastic work hard and may the winning keep on coming WELL DONE BOYS.
I also want to make a special mention and a big thank you to James and Brendan from the U17s taking there time out to help warm up and give the boys advice on there game plan today.
