two fantastic teams one fantastic game of rugby.

Second year running bees had another away trip in cup competition, this time away to old Rishworthians, last time these two team met last season its was just a try the separated them with old rish coming out on top, so we were going to be in for a cracker of a game and the boys from both teams didn't disappoint. Old Rishworthians started the brighter with quick hands and moving the ball down the line to open the scoring and taking the conversion . Credit to our boys yet again for not letting this spoil all the hard work they have kept up so far this season and with a good few of our team missing they went right back at old rish from the kick off, our rucking and mauling working well giving us great opportunity to run at there defence ,it was Alex that went over for bees first try with some great work by the team pushing his way over . Could be forgiven for thinking we was watching tennis not rugby with the way the game was back and forth with the defence and attack from both teams, but it was old rish to break the white wash again and convert. With half time approaching and one last play to the half, a knock on from old rish it was our ball, from the scrum and with our backs running some good lines made there way up to within 10 meters of there line Connor taking the ball and with one hand on the chest of an old rish boy and holding the ball above everyone's head we wasn't sure what he was going to do with it and after speaking to him he wasn't sure either but he said l saw a gap and went for it so glad he did with the conversion good we was just 2 points behind. With half time breaking up a great match second half started in much the same way as the first half finished from both teams playing exciting and open rugby. It was bees to open the score in the second half with Alex claiming his second to go under the posts and Byron taking the 2 extra points it was the bees to take the lead for the first time in the game, this seem to give the boys a big boost, with Byron making some bulldozing runs and being a thorn in old Rishworthians side all game , then the tackling from our lads stop a lot of opportunity for old rish in trying to create space for them selves, in bees keeping them pinned back . Henry showed a dummy which made space down the wing and beating several player to go over for a try, what was good to see was the support our boys was giving each other and think that played a big part in our performance today, but as old Rishworthians have shown they can create space as well which they did with the tackle going in all over the place, old rish got the ball out to the wing and went over in the corner with a pressure kick to come and the score being equal it was down to old rish kicker to win the game for them and with a valiant effort pushed the ball wide that was the last play of the game but with no extra time played and no return matches it was Bradford and Bingley as the away team that take the win and go through to round 2. MoM this week went to Luke who had been asked to play hooker and did so very well and his attitude in getting to the ball at the rucks and his general game play well done. But the lads could of all been MoM for the way they approched the game and sticking at it well done boys and again to the parents as l will be saying this a lot this season a massive thank you for your ongoing support of the team and the coaching staff it really dose give the lads a boost . So to training lets keep up the fantastic numbers and the hard work, the results we are turning out on match day are credit to this .we also have a guest coach this Tuesday so pls get down and work hard .well done lads and round 2 here we come .
