We had drawn Driffield in the Yorkshire cup, away to boot again for the second year running .
So as we headed off to the land of U15 giants confidence high from a great game the week before all we could do was ask the lads for more of the same. Guess the lads didn’t get that message and all we can say is it was a master class from Driffield at our expense. We just didn’t turn up and all credit to Driffield in their execution of their game plan in every department and not allowing us to play or have the ball. Our forwards couldn’t match the intensity of their forwards which laid the platform for their backs to run riot .We showed them far too much respect, our tackling was none existent and tackling shirts won’t do you any good as it showed. We could go on all day about the negatives but we hope this game will show how we have to play and support each other.
So on to the positives; we did show Driffield we can play and we can make some great hard yards with some phases from the forwards which lead to Kyle scoring his first try for the team in the corner from a good bullish run which we have seen and loved . There were glimpses of how the Bees can play so let’s scratch this one down as a hard lesson learned and let’s get down to training, work hard on our game and bounce back for next week’s game.
Man of the match this week was Byron for his strong runs and hard tackling with great performances also from the Twins and Ruh working hard and was unlucky with his interception not to go the length of the field Well done to all the lads for turning up to what we all knew was going to be a difficult game. And hope theo and luke are ok after they sustained injuries
The final score was something near 50-10.
