U13s repeat their unbroken performance at Cleckheaton

With Storm Freya looming a damp morning welcomed the BEES U13s at Cleckheaton. Injuries today was George 'Anaconda'; Magic Dan; Bilal Sniper and Jack Hewitt - 'Green Demon' wishing them all a speedy recovery. And it was a big welcome too for brothers Brody 'Fighting Falcon' and Cody 'Wild Bill' who take on their 2nd debut for the BEES, both demonstrating great speed, tactical and core skills to further strengthen the BEES team. And big thanks to Harry Houdini, Charlie Flying Beesman and Brody Fighting Falcon for slipping on a Cleckheaton shirt to make it 13 x aside throughout the game.

After a team talk from Andy Mega Watts, Chris Boss-hogg senior and Tom Beesman senior, Captain, George W. 'Bite yer legs', led out the BEEs to take on Cleckheaton. First few minutes of the game the BEEs were hungry, with some strength from our forwards, Curly The Chieftain Tank, Ishmael Rocket Man and Isaac Tomahawk leading the front row, supported by second row James The red, amber and black engine, and Nathan Boss Hogg with Thomas The Warhorse in at number 8 to provide that extra drive the BEEs needed.

Creating early opportunities, Scrum half, Sam Power Rocket, fed the ball out to Fernando Galatico to lay it out to Charlie The Flying Beesman taking the first try for BEEs in the first two minutes. Soon followed was number two try for the BEEs by a determined run by Brody Fighting Falcon taking a stunning try for the BEES.

Continued aggression and grit from the forwards both in the scrum and on the break downs, the ball shifted effortlessly between the BEEs hands, supported by backs Joe The Laughing Assassin and Jim King Cobra both taking two fantastic tries for BEES.

Keeping the team refreshed with the benefit of three subs, Boss Hogg senior worked his magic with the team selection. Jacob Killer Watts made his appearance despite recovering from a short illness, stepping into Scrum half to continue the magic from Sam Power Rocket. However, despite a great start from the BEES as the clock shifted to halftime, Cleckheaton fought back taking two tries.

But it wasn't long before the BEES came back from the halftime, further tries from Brody Fighting Falcon and Isaac Tomahawk to strengthen the lead for the BEES. The second half was bumpy, if not messy in spots and soon the BEES started to look tired whilst Cleckheaton turned up the gas. Taking advantage of the BEES slow down, Cleckheaton pinched two more tries. But then with five minutes to spare, the BEES woke up and ignored their tired legs with a final push and determination both on the rucks and line taking the final two tries scored by Fighting Falcon scoring his hat-trick and an amazing try from 25m in from Oliver Hercules, side stepping Cleckheaton's backs to provide a tidy finish for the BEES.

Final score BEEs 50 - Cleckheaton 20. Man of the match went to Brody Fighting Falcon for his effortless and consistent attacking and defending play, best attitude to Harry Houdini for upholding the RFU values and spirit of the game.

Big thanks to Sally The Mechanic for providing a first class first aid support and Tim Senior Engine for his team support and encouragement.

Thanks also to those parents who supported the game today and final thanks to Cleckheaton for hosting.

Well done boys - great day. Baildon away next week... get some rest until Training Tuesday!
