Get the drinks in Sam!!!

What a great performance today from the squad, the parents and grandparents supporting and Richard Tafa taking the warm-up.

Let’s start with Rich Tafa who brings an air of professionalism to the warm-up and gets the lads switched on. A massive thank you to Rich.

What can I say about the opening try by Alex other than it was that quick I almost missed it but just managed to see Alex receive a pass from an early penalty, run round about 4 of Barnsley’s players and drop over the line within a minute of the kick-off.
We backed that early score up with some good passages of play and excellent ball handling from Henry, Pat and Sam finishing well to score his first try. The forwards, Theo, Bentos, Luke and Jack Corrin all worked hard winning some good ruck ball and we were rewarded with two more tries from Ruh and Tom. Will Hopper slotted a difficult conversion to keep the score board ticking over. Further hard work with a great driving run from Jack Wild and scrum half Nicky scurrying after him. George backed up well on the other wing and was unlucky to miss out on scoring as was Will McCallum-Lodge who put in a sterling performance at full-back. Just before half time the referee awarded a fair penalty to Barnsley for an unfortunate high tackle 7 metres from Bees line and they were difficult to stop from that range.
At half time we brought Jam, Charlie and Jay into the fray, all of whom stepped up to the plate plus we had a major re-shuffle of the players who were on and for 10 minutes Barnsley came back into the game. However, we found our feet again and it was not long before Sam went over for two more tries and Alex added another to his first try. Barnsley got a consolation try and the end but it was a job well done by Bees and the final score was 39 points to 12. Forward of the match was Alex but to be fair to the rest you all played really well. Back of the match with an outstanding performance and a hat trick of tries was Sam who went on to buy his team mates a jug of Coke after the match.

The support from parents and grandparents was fantastic so a massive thank you to you all. Jon Crowe ran a brilliant raffle and raised £70 for tour. Jon that is amazing and you blitzed your previous best ! Thank you.
Simon Myers received a donation of £50 to the tour fund from one of his customers, Delta Services (apparently these are the boys you need for any asbestos removal); thank you to them.
