3 Way at Cleckheaton

Some good rugby today by our boys against formidable opposition and 2 different styles of rugby.

A well discaplined WMCA gave us cause for thought demonstrating a rigid defensive line and some power houses breaking through the bees defence, Great work rate and commitment from Sam, Ben, Luca, Dominic and George in defence and flashes of attacking brilliance from Sam P and Dominic pairing with the ever present George to create opportunities which George Converted into Tries.

A scrappier game was in store against Cleckheaton who played a tougher game which at first caught our boys off guard but a second half raleigh and lots of spirit and grit got the Bees back in the game but left us battered and bruised.

Other Try scorers Koben, Tom and Thomas had a number of good runs, and defence in both games was once again bolstered by Sam Bryant, Rohan and Ben. Samuel M, Adam and Newcomer Philip both enjoyed good runs today.

We were able to field 2 teams today and so awarded 2 man of the match trophies first to Sam C for showing great spirit by returning to the arena having taken a battering or two at the hands of the enthusiastic Cleck and to George who again demonstrated his skill, pace and understanding of the game, tackles were textbook and seemingly fearless as well as attacking play with vision and a work rate to applaud.
