Hat trick for Bobby Darbyshire helps secure win.

As you can imagine there was a fair amount of hype and banter between the boys prior to this local derby. Wth a huge crowd gathered the game kicked off, both sides clearly up for the challenge were putting some big tackles and huge effort in the scrums where bees just had the edge.
Both sides were equally matched but the first score was to Bees with Bobby Darbyshire going over and the conversion was added by newcomer to Bees Harry Normington, 7-0. Bees could not afford to relax and a lapse in concentration allowed Keighley to go over for a try, the conversion missed meant Bees still had a slim lead, 7-5.
Pressure from Bees around the Keighley 22 resulted in a penalty for Bees, the option to kick for goal was taken and up stepped Harry Normington, another great kick securing another 3 points giving Bees a 10-5 lead with half time fast approaching. Another slight lapse in concentration let Keighley in again bringing the score to 10-10. The half time whistle went and the atmosphere was nailbiting with it all to play for in the second half.
With the second half underway the Bees edged ahead again with another try coming from Bobby Darbyshire, Harry Normington stepped up for the kicking duties and another great kick saw the conversion added, 17-10 to Bees. The pressure was still on and neither side could afford to relax, both sides were giving it their all and were forcing each other to make mistakes. The next score came again to Bees with Bobby Darbyshire getting hIs hat trick try against his old club, unfortunately Bees couldn't add the conversion pushing it wide of the posts, 22-10 to Bees.
A great link up between Max Hutchinson and Bobby Darbyshire saw Max dance around four or five Keighley players to score a great try under the posts, this was converted by Ben Hemsley taking the score to 29-10 to Bees. With the clock ticking Keighley came back at Bees and put them under pressure forcing some great defending, Keighley crossing the line twice but getting held up resulting in a scrum. Eventually after some sustained pressure Keighley managed to get over for a try which was converted bringing the score to 29-17 to Bees. With only minutes to go Bees sustained a little more pressure before the final whistle went, much to the relief of the crowd and lads. A great game played by both well matched teams managed well by the referee and a great victory by Bees who had the edge on the day.
