How do we describe that game yesterday other than AWESOME !

How do we describe that game yesterday other than AWESOME ! It is rare we see every single player in our team step up to the plate and play so well but every one in the squad did just that yesterday. We were straight out of the blocks from the whistle against Keighley yesterday thanks to Brendan, the U16's coach, teaching our forwards a few tricks of the trade and the lads believing they could win right from the start. This showed at the first scrum when our pack pushed Keighley backwards with consummate ease and we competed at the rucks. The backs were positive in attack, running the right lines and strong in defence, when needed. All this hard work paid off early on with Byron claiming our first try but Keighley were never going to roll over easily and they replied with a converted try; Bees 5 Keighley 7. In games gone by our heads would have gone down but we stuck to the task continuing with the same back to basics approach. With the Bees section of the crowd shouting for more of the same Alex added to our try count to make it Bees 10 Keighley 7.

We then started to make substitutions and there is always the danger that we loose momentum but not yesterday as every player that came on performed as good as his teammate. The second half was a very tense affair but we held on and once again out performed the opposition in key areas, particularly the scrum. With 5 minutes to go Henry sealed it with a try under the posts, after skipping through four Keighley players, and Byron did the honours converting it. Final score Bees 17 Keighley 7. We nominated every player in the Bees squad for Man of the Match following a heroic performance by all.
