The Bees wasted a number of early chances and the one try from prop Paul McCumiskie was the only reward in the first 25 minutes with the strong wind behind. The efforts of the Wharfedale defence were frustrating which resulted in Josh Seal spending 10 minutes in the bin. With the match now in the balance, the Bees were able to turn pressure to points and score two more tries to lead 17:0 at half time.
Wharfedale tried to take advantage of the strong wind in the second half but their kicks were picked up and returned with interest. Wharfedale did cross the line once but the Bees scored another four tries to end clear winners.
It was great to see Corry, Jack Malthouse and Brookie back from their injuries. Brookie in particular shone through with some great turnovers and support play to pick up the man of the match beer voucher.
If we had to pick a champagne moment then it would have been given to Ryan Wilson as he did another of his trade mark crazy jinking runs off his wing. Its like he is running from a swarm of bees and has no idea which way to run next!
