The team is having a spluttery start to the season with played six won three lost three. but the encouraging part is even in defeat the boys are gelling together, with an influx of new faces to the club which is always encouraging, but the boys are enjoying themselves there's a more relaxed atmosphere, the signs are very promising for the second team to have a successful season.
This week saw the boys come up against West Leeds who was having at tough start to the season and with getting a team together, some of the Bees lads put on the west Leeds jersey to allow the game to go ahead, which showed great sportsmanship and over the course of the game gave their team mates a run for their money.
For once the bees was the bigger team and it showed in the scrummaging and defensive work as the game was mainly played in the West Leeds half throughout the game, and even when Leeds got up to the Bees red zone the Bees was able to repel their attack and turn it in to attacking opportunity themselves, but give West Leeds Credit the played for the full 80 minutes and gave a lot of spirit.
The Bees was firing on all cylinders in every department, with tries coming from seven different players across the team, the forwards laying the platform for the back to attack, the ball moving freely through the hands, the lads having plenty of time to make decisions on the ball.
There was a good crowd down at wagon lane to watch the team which is always a plus for the boys having that support and cheering on by the crowd. again all credit to West Leeds they never gave up on their task, and wasn't there to just make up the numbers, just things came together what the lads had been doing in training to bring to the game, with great numbers down at training nights make this performance possible, well done to all the Barbarians squad.
