Bees Young guns shoot down Baildon in local derby.

Back on the road for the Bees 2nd team, but they didn't have far to travel as as it was the local derby against Baildon 2nds , which has always provided the supporter with a great game to watch.
After not having a fixture last week the Bees had chance to rest and shack off any niggles they had sustained, but with having great number down at training the young lads was raring to go getting back to winning ways.
It shows the depth this young squad has at the moment considering the loss of the 2nd team last season due to numbers, this season has gone to the other end of the scale with having over ten replacements to pick, with last seasons Colts making the bulk of the squad with most of them still just seventeen years of age, but the mix of this team this season has produce a young team with determination in abundance to win. so far this season they have produced some great performances, sadly their last the wheels came off they just gave away the win through mistakes, so the last couple of weeks at training they have worked hard on ironing them mistakes out.
so wanted to go out against Baildon and put on a performance to prove to themselves, they can work and trust each other, sadly for Baildon they was the team for the Bees to put in one of the best performance this season, to dominate Baildon in every department, we wouldn't say we have a big pack in size but the work they have been doing with the senior squad on the scrimmaging machine have made them a tight unit this was to having Baildon scrum going backward at every opportunity, the speed of the Bees defensive line was always there in Baildons face to stop them doing anything with the ball turning the ball over to starve the of any opportunity.
The first 10 minutes was a tight game both teams seeing what they other had to offer the game, it wasn't long before the Bees was to open the score through Andy Smith with our forward pushing Baildon back towards their try line for Andy to go over. the Bees was playing down field in the first half so really had to make everything count as they knew Baildon would come back at them when it was their turn to play down the slope, the next score went to Alvaro Casas weaving his was through the Baildon defense, with Dominic Walker picking up the extras.
Bees was looking to be enjoying themselves as everything they was doing was paying off, most of all their defensive display through the game was nothing short of perfect. Bees in the first half kept Baildon at bay with what every Baildon had to offer, it was Byron Finn turn to add more to the score, dancing his was through the Baildon defense for a loose forward as big and powerful as he is he has light feet as the side stepping of a No.8 shouldn’t be do things like that.
Byron was to pick up the next score this time from the backs as he had moved to inside center to allow replacements to come on and get time in the game and having played that position at Colt level slotted right into place.
Lee Neha playing at fly half today was to assist Byron with a sweet pass that opened up a gap for Byron to hit the line and again go off on a side stepping master class, he converted his own try to give himself twelve point from the game this finished off the first half.
HT 0-24
Baildon having the slope in the second half, Bees knew they would want to amount a fight back, but when they had possession the ball handling error got the better of them, for the mistakes the Bees was able to camp themselves deep in the Baildon half for Alvaro Casas to pop up at the foot of a breakdown to again weave his way through the defense to score his second of the game, next to cross was Thomas Genty to power his way down the wing and over in the corner, with both our nominated kicker on the sideline having a well earned break up stepped Rhys Holland a former player of Baildon to pick up the extras for the sideline with a great kick. Feelings was it wasn't to be Baildon's day as the bees from the kick off raced up the field to once again camp themselves in Baildons half, this time it was Lee Neha to step up to get himself on the score sheet with a well worked move from the backs opened Baildon wide open to just slot the ball down, l know l am going into the try scorers, you might be wondering was there any play in between, the answer to that was yes the Bees in part had to work to gain the ball and battle with Baildon as they put up a spirited fight but today the Bees young guns was just to strong for Baildon to cope with, once again the Bees found themselves on the try line with Baildon giving a penalty, for the quick thinking of Andy Smith who was stood at the side of the referee and while Baildon questioned the call Andy tapped the ball it was a case of driving for the line for the try to be given and for Andy Smith to also pick up his second of the game.not to be out done and working so hard in attack Rhys Holland was rewarded for his efforts for the day with the final try, to polish off and brilliant display from the Young Bees squad.
Full time 0-55
Today was a team effort from the Bees and everyone of you should be proud of all the hard work put in to the game but also training, with some great efforts for Luke Peacock with some fantastic attacking runs to move his team into scoring positions, also Will Broadbent for his work around the breakdowns and turning over possession to his team also his line out work, having some great attacking runs himself, also Byron Finn being a pain all game for Baildon with his powerful running and defensive work also to pick up two well work tries from two different playing positions.
But this is a team game win or lose we are a team we have had fantastic number down to training and with hard work displays like today will carry on throughout the season Well done to each and everyone of the squad.
Man of the Match went to our little Spanish pocket rocket Alvaro Casas for the tireless work around the field running the ball back every time Baildon tried to get out of their half and for your defensive work and tackling. Well Done
Lets take this display back on the road to our next opposition Halifax Vandals, with a top of the table clash.
