Barbarians display total commitment and a full range of skills to score 11 tries past a never give up Wharfedale 3s

Early days in the season but with Wharfedale top of the league and Bees second this was an important match for both teams. With a full Bees squad available despite 6 key players out there was no last minute call to the Vets for help for the first time this season. A delighted 2s coach Ali was able to put his big game plan into action and set up this impressive win which will keeps the Bees unbeaten this season and now top of the league.

The lads were all behind closed doors at 1:30 going through Ali's power point match plan and to collect the new bright red puma stash given to every player who is paying subs on-line. The best news was that Smithy was back from injury and for the first time we had a hooker and Will Rae was back at 9 after 2 years out with a dodgy shoulder.

The Bees played into a strong wind but from the off dominated the match and denied Wharfedale any ball to take advantage of the elements. Best of news was a solid scrum and a slick line out as up to today the Bees had been second best in these departments this season and wins had been done the hard way. Ben Pearson gets better every week at prop and with Smithy throwing to an inspired Leaping Salmon then set plays were solid throughout.

The bees dominance was rewarded by three first half tries from Phil Greaves, Seal and the once again impressive Alex. All scores under the post were converted by Will. HT 21:0

The Bees secured a bonus point 4th try straight from the restart as Seal scored the second of his hat trick. Alex also picked up two more tries for his hat trick. The Bees put on their 5 man bench but the game plan and intensity remained the same. The Bees made few mistakes and played fast an strong rugby straight down the middle and 8 second half tries were scored at regular intervals. Will Rae and Ben Pearson topped off their great performances with tries. There were no easy kicks today with a strong win but Will converted 10 from 11 and take his points owns tally to 25.

In amongst, Wharfedale did score a great try as their big no.13 charged at full pace onto a bouncing kick through to leave the defence flat footed.
FT 75 : 7

Great display and special mention of young Harry Taylor who grafted from the back row the entire 80 minutes with special praise from Captain Cook who was able to use so much clean ball from no.8 with such great effect either giving the ball to will early or setting up forwards with strong runs from all positions through out with Rob Harrison and Corry hitting the line the hardest.

MOM after 2 years out injured Will Rae's performance was might impressive... my choice.

Fines collected by the suspended Master of Fines £53- had Crotchy been playing then fines would have hit three figures.. Monies saved for xmas party... running total £52..
