2nds win 19:12

The late influx of vets boosted the ranks of the 2nd team and set up a great team performance. Ben Grange showed the young players in the team how a no.8 should play and willy making a major contribution at scrum half and with Duts Foggy and Sam Cummins putting in their fair share from the bench.

There was also a welcome influx of new players including Shaun Driver our just off the plane kiwi and Danny (never really played rugby before but thought he'd give it a go) Watkinson and Big Cheese back playing after 2 years. Not to forget that Alex was playing only his second senior game after impressing last week and Tom Dyson found his boots after a year away injured. Great to see Cockell back playing after a few weeks off injured.

All in all a bit of a bodge up team missing a hooker to bring to a well prepared Morley but hopes were high.

The pattern of the first half was Morley dominated scrums and line outs but Bees kept the play in the firmly in Morley's half. Bees wasted a few good chances before Alex showed great poise to drift into space out right and touch down under the posts for Shaun to make it 7-0.

Morley eventually created some pressure in our 22 and came away with a try to turn around 7-5 down.

Half time allowed chance to sort the scrum out with Cheese finding his range in the line outs then the Bees were able to keep a tight control of the game and with a free ball called in their 22 then Henry kicked the ball cross field and with two defenders in control Alex once again showed great poise to put the defence under pressure and cause the ball loose to then touch down 14.5.

Bees again pressed into Morley's 22m and it seemed must score again until from Morley's young no.10 took matrers into him own hands and kicked the ball into space behind the Bees defence and with a good bounce was able to run under the posts from 60m..14:12

Morley's heads were up now with 25 minutes left to play and the Bees now began to gift territory with a series of penalties leaving Morley 10m out and bashing at the bees defence. With Henry Crotchy Grangey and Cockell leading the tackle count Morley ran out of ideas and eventually the Bees cleared after Morley were caught holding on. Steady progress into the Morley half and another penalty expertly kicked the Bees to a line out 6m out. Morleys dominance in the line out found them wanting when Cheese chucked in a beauty which was driven to 4m before a caught out defence eventually sacked the drive only for Cheese to pick up and bully two defenders over the line for a great try. 19:12.

Morley tried to pick up their game and did press again after bring on fresh legs but the result was always safe. FT 19:12 to the Bees...
