With exactly 11 weeks to go until the 2017 edition of Bingley Music Live, Bradford and Bingley Rugby Club is absolutely delighted to announce that we have sold 666 tickets, almost one third exactly of our target of 2000 revellers camping with us for the annual event.
Glen Shaw, who has co-ordinated the Camping at Wagon Lane for the last eight years, said: "This is fantastic news for the club; we have already nearly sold as many camping tickets as we did for last year and we don't normally generate most sales until after Glastonbury. We hope this many sales this early means this will be our most successful year ever. It is actually also great news for Bingley as there must be quite a few businesses, like us at the Rugby Club, who receive a massive boost in our income from Bingley Music Live. I think Andrew Wood and his team deserve congratulating for pulling together such a good line up and I wouldn't be surprised if the event sells out".
Martin Whitcombe, the Director of Rugby at Bradford and Bingley RFC echoed Shaw's comments and said "Bingley Music Live is a massive event for this Rugby Club; after we were nearly put out of business by the Boxing Day Flood of 2015, a large part of the reason we were able to get back on our feet was the money we had generated from the previous September's BML. We were worried that we had heard talk that the Council could no longer afford to run the event, but I think getting acts like the Manics and the Kaiser Chiefs this year seems to have really put the event back on track and I hope it will be part of the calendar for many years to come".
